Dear Parents/Guardians,
We have provided your child with Pentland Primary’s new ‘Literacy Information Book’. The purpose of this handbook is to provide a range of resources for parents/carers to assist their children with Literacy at home. Literacy involves students reading, writing, speaking and listening. We understand that children represent and communicate their stories by playing, drawing and speaking, hence the importance of becoming literate. These behaviors assist students to become effective learners who are confident and motivate to use their literacy skills broadly.
We have provided a literacy book from Foundation to Grades 1 & 2 and a book from grades 3 to 6.
We hope that this supports you and your child with literacy at home.
